Step challenges are a great way to encourage more activity in your daily routine. Nothing like a good healthy competition to get you motivated, right? With that spirit in mind, the Fitneff/WalkTop team has been competing in a company step challenge for the full month of July, and let me tell you, the WalkTop has been a huge advantage in getting in our daily steps!
For the full month of July, the team here at WalkTop is battling it out with an intense step challenge. Each week, we compare our progress to see who’s pulling ahead in the running tally of steps and who needs to pick up the slack! At the end of the month, the person with the highest running total over the 31 days will be crowned the ultimate winner.
In order to accurately track our steps, we’ll be using Garmin Activity Trackers. Rachel, Kate and Angelique chose the Garmin Vivofit 4 activity tracker, while Ron chose the Garmin Vivoki activity tracker.
Why the WalkTop is Perfect for a Step Challenge:
So, if you find yourself in a step challenge this summer too, we’ve got the perfect way to win: the WalkTop of course! Our office WalkTop has made all the difference in achieving our daily step goals. Here’s why we love the WalkTop for a step challenge:
- You Can Work at the Same Time: If you’re stuck in an office for the majority of your day, it can be tough to get those 10,000 steps in the few hours you have left after work. That’s why the WalkTop is so handy: you can walk and work at the same time. With its versatile design, this treadmill desk allows you to type, read, complete phone calls or write all while walking, meaning you don’t have to sacrifice your productivity just to avoid coming dead last in your challenge.
- It’s Low Intensity: When using the WalkTop, you walk at a very low speed, which means the movement is low intensity for your body. If you’re feeling tired or sore from all of your more intense activities outside of work that increase your step count, the WalkTop is the perfect break that will still get you lots of steps.
- It Replaces Prolonged Sitting: While others in your step challenge are sitting down at their desk, you can seamlessly replace your sitting time with walking time. This means that using the WalkTop during your step challenge will put you one step ahead of your opponents (or several thousand steps ahead, if you catch my drift).
All in all, if you want to win your step challenge, there’s only one thing you have to do: get your WalkTop and start walking! If you want to follow along with our company step challenge, be sure to check out Fitneff’s Instagram account for weekly updates on progress.
