Calgary WalkTop Event Gets Downtowners Moving and People Talking

May 26, 2015

Fitneff’s WalkTop treadmill desk got plenty of attention when we set the stage May 13-14 in the pristine lobby of one of Calgary’s highest profile buildings – Eighth Avenue Place.

The two day “Give the WalkTop a Try” event engaged hundreds of curious onlookers and busy professionals who tried it for themselves, and attracted the attention of the city’s media including the Calgary Herald and its Financial Post edition, CTV, CBC, GlobalTV, and ShawTV. We were also proud to make Avenue Magazine’s “5 Great Things that Happened in YYC this Week” list.

As a North American hot spot for entrepreneurialism, commerce, and the largest concentration of head offices and small businesses per capita in Canada – we wanted to get straight to the point and ask Calgary: “Can you truly work at a high level – and walk at the same time?”

For health and well being, getting those 10,000 steps a day, improving creative thinking and performance – the resounding answer was YES!

I asked Laurel some important questions about the role of women in business, and the role that she plays in advocating for other women in her life.
