New Balance Signs on as the Exclusive Official Athletic Footwear and Apparel Sponsor of the WalkTop™ Treadmill Desk Promotional Tour
TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - March 30, 2015)
With more and more studies linking sedentary lifestyles to an increase of health risks such as cardiovascular disease and cancer, there's never been a better time for individuals to take the steps towards healthier living. Two brands are joining forces for a North American tour to promote increased physical activity at home and at work. Fitneff™ Inc. and New Balance are pleased to announce a sponsorship agreement that will see New Balance as the exclusive Official Athletic Footwear and Apparel sponsor of the WalkTop™ Treadmill Desk Promotional Tour.
From March to June 2015, Fitneff™ Inc. will embark on a tour to introduce the WalkTop™, a stylish, light and compact treadmill desk designed specifically to attach onto the majority of popular treadmills currently on the market. New Balance retailer representatives will attend and educate consumers at select events providing fitting expertise and further information about New Balance footwear products and the importance of a customized fit to meet your needs.

"This initiative between Fitneff™ and New Balance is based on the mutual belief that walking and physical activity play a positive and significant role in the health and welfare of everyone," says Joann Sacca, NBRx Foot Health Solutions Manager of New Balance. "We have always worked to move the world around us and what better way to share the message and the means, than through this tour with Fitneff Inc."
The sponsorship includes grassroots marketing and promotional strategies such as face to face demos with consumers, lunch 'n learns, invitational special events and street promotion executions. The multi-city tour will includes stops at specialty fitness retailers; corporations and institutions such as universities and hospitals and community events.
"We're incredibly privileged to have a global fitness brand as renowned and respected as New Balance sponsor this tour," remarked Laurel Walzak, co-founder and COO of Fitneff Inc. "With the WalkTop™ treadmill desk and New Balance's high-performance footwear, we are offering a relevant one-stop shop product experience while simultaneously educating consumers about the problems that extensive sitting and poor fitting shoes can cause and the solutions that can be offered by getting up periodically during the day and walking in the right fitting footwear."

New Balance PR
Today, on International Women’s Day, I have chosen to profile Laurel Walzak, the female co-founder of Fitneff Inc. Laurel has been successful in so many areas of her career - first as a trailblazer in the sports business industry, then as an entrepreneur and most recently as an Assistant Professor of Sports Media at Ryerson University.
Laurel also spends a great deal of her time and energy outside the office in efforts to advance the careers of young women who are making their start. I asked Laurel some important questions about the role of women in business, and the role that she plays in advocating for other women in her life.
You could say that Jim Wachtel occupies a front-row seat in the corporate health and wellness industry. And, because of his job as a health care cost-containment strategist, he spends a lot of time in that seat, whether it’s in his office, in his car, or on an airplane travelling for work.
Now, he's literally taking steps toward better health without compromising his productivity. Read how he's no longer sitting down on the job with the Walktop Treadmill desk by Fitneff.
